Hi,
I am new to the forum, hello everyone.
Sent FSW application off yesterday, it has taken a year from discussing Canada as the future for us as a family to actually posting the forms.
I am from UK my husband is French and we live in the Canary Islands, we thought the sunshine lifestyle was for us, but the reality is long working hours, little family time, although the advantage is that the children are trilingual, the education is ok but not brilliant, with little prospect of university without travel to another country.
We feel Canada is the right place to be as the children can speak French, and we hear so much how great the uni's are in Canada.
Did a recce trip to Toronto and loved it, unfortunately all my photos of it got stolen in New York as we stopped off for a couple of days on the way back
So now the application has been sent, just fingers crossed now.
My husband is a chef and has experience of food manufacturing supplying food for M&S and just a little down hearted that we have sent his resume about 50 times to different companies, agencies and adverts, to never receive a single reply, I just hope this is not an indication that work will be very hard to come by if our application is successful anyone else been in this situation?

Hi and welcome to the forum. Hopefully the Canada forum will be useful to you during your journey, which I hope goes smoothly for you.
That's where you're going wrong - you're sending stuff via the internet. Just not how things are done in Canada! Have a read of the Job Hunting guide in the Canada section of the Wiki (on blue bar at top of page) to understand how different the employment market is over there and how to go about finding work.
And then pop over to the Canada forum where we'll give you a warm welcome.
