Is your Xmas tree real or fake?
 

Ever since I've been married we've enjoyed a real tree each Xmas...I'd never go back to those fake ones...at least now the fake ones look real though..the one I grew up with was pitiful :o :D
anyway which do you prefer real or fake? and which kind of tree do you prefer...we always go for the Douglas Fir because the needles are so much softer...tried the Fraser fir one time..it was gorgeous but "ouch" not too much fun to decorate :eek:

For the last two years, we'd headed up to the rim and chopped our own down. Last years tree was a pathetic specimen though, so we went with a 7.5ft pre lit fake from Sams Club.

Fake. And I must confess that I'm tempted to put it up tomorrow (Sunday). That would beat my previous record by at least 3 weeks.

Fake..We have 2, an 11 foot one for the living room and an 8 foot one for the family room, the smaller one is pre-lit, I wish the big one was, takes ******* ages to unravel the lights each year..
Can't wait to put it up, would do it this weekend but hubbies away and I'm too little to reach the top of it.. :o

Neither as im going home to blighty for xmas - though i would get a fake one as i have carpets, but a real one if i had wooden floors - its a bitch getting all those needles up!!!!

We have a lovely 7 1/2 foot fake one. We had a real tree two years ago, but this one is pretty nice and looks real, is pre-lit, so there is none of that getting lights tangled up round your ankles malarky, and plenty of room to display the rather quirky tree ornaments that I've been getting a liking for since living in the US. :D

Real one for us, although this year I would be happy to have a fake as we now have a puppy, I have visions of waking up to the tree laying on the floor and the decorations all chewed up :)

We won't be home for crimbo so no tree. But even when we are, I always say we shouldn't have one, then Mrs M caves in at that last minute and digs our out of the attic :rolleyes:

I can recommend a shop in the Cotswolds that's open year round selling Christmas ornaments, handmade in India and Thailand. I bought some in Burford on Friday and the ornaments are stunning.

The Christmas Company at Burford do ship overseas too.

Picked up some Christmas ornaments for the MIL and SIL from the shop.

Real - I'm just a pagan at heart. Bring the evergreens indoors over winter and spring and fertility will return, so they say.

Actually, I'm just addicted to the smell and to some good associated memories.

while we were up at the MIL's we chopped down our own..great it was....wasn't as pretty as the ones from home depo..but it was honest of god a "real" tree...no crazy wild animals in it though :eek:


cor that was years ago and i've yet to develop the film :o ..I'll have to develop them all and hope the film didn't expire cos there were some classic photo's, even the kids had a go with the saw :D :cool:

I was just saying to a friend the other day that I'll have to get a British ornament..I have ones themed from the other few places I've lived but not the U.k...I even found the Welsh flag!!!! :D

Sounds like something I used to do!! Thankfully digital came along. :D

We usually do a real tree. Although hubs grumbles all the way.....something about spending money. :rolleyes: Next year, we'll be doing outdoor decorations.....he'll just love that! :D
