Been lurking for a while, but finally decided that since everyone else is introducing themselves, I'd do the same!

Me = L1A, but now married to...
Her = USC

Just now pondering the lengthy battle (and financial outlay) to make things permanent!

It's expensive, and I'm only a few months into my L1A so there's less of a pressing concern. And long term I'd still rather live in the UK! But yes, I take your point...

Hi,

2 year J1 followed by a 1 year renewal then a 2 year H1-B, marriage, then GC.

Sent in N400 last July after just short of 4 years of marriage.

They put you on an F1 as a student and post-doc? Odd. I guess your J1 expired or something. They put post-docs on J1s now.

If the J1 would have come with a 2 year HRR, it would have been better to have done it on a F1 if you wanted to stay around afterwards though...
