Just saw this ad on TV, when I am looking for a job as well!

The website encourages people to complain to Obama and tell their friends, wonder if this will have a knock on effect on us here working or trying to find a job.

There's always been plenty of jobs for Americans to do. Simple fact is too many of them have an overinflated perception of themselves and see a lot of stuff as beneath them.

There is no such thing as "American Jobs"

They may be jobs based in the US but that doesn't mean they are reserved for people of US nationality.

Most jobs that south Americans come to do most yanks wouldn't do anyway

I'm not so sure I believe that America is 'still bringing in' Foreign workers, especially 1.5 million a year? More propoganda if you ask me.

You beat me to it. I was going to ask that very same question. The topic comes up stronger during every economic downturn when they start selectively enforcing the law to round up illegals.

I was at our local immigration office the other day and it was very noticeable how quiet it was, in the past I was use to seeing people sitting on the floor.

May be not so many are in a rush to get over here.

I think it could be a problem, people panic in an economic downturn, plenty of comments on BE about Poles nicking our jobs and whatever.

My mother has tenants who are polish, quality carpenters who did a load of work for cheap....anyway, can't speak my English so they talk through a mutual friend who's a builder, he helped them get the place as it was, anyway, they were saying it was hard to get work as there were to many Poles but the scale has now tipped because the ones who were rubbish and couldn't get work are now flooding back to Poland

Yes, and don't even think of trying to donate blood if you lived in the UK for more than 3 months between 1980 and 1996 ...
