Default Yippeeeeeeeee

I'm going home! Unfortunately not until October 17th but hopefully it will make the next few months bearable knowing it's not forever. The worst part is that it is looking as though I am going to have to find homes for my cats here, I am going home to no job, no car - nothing basically and I can't afford the quarantine fees for them never mind the cargo fees they are charging for shipping animals that have to be quarantined. So many things have gone wrong that I just don't have a penny to go to the vet to even start the pet passport procedure. However, Heather in work is trying her hardest to ask around to see if she can find people that will take them and we have so far managed to find one no kill shelter in Mississipi. Sucks.

Strangely enough I met this girl through a friend at work, she's from Rhode Island and moved to TN to be with the guy who is the father of her little girl and she has had one hell of a time since she got here (yet another Jerry Springer episode) and is desperately trying to get home ASAP so we have that in common and have been spending a lot of time together with her little girl so that's nice.

This will probably be the last time I'll be posting in a while as my computer is dead and I can't afford to replace it and later this morning our boss is having monitoring software put on and we were all told yesterday not to use the net etc at all anymore.

Cats are at work with me today since my apt is being spray - I had a bug infestation. Ugh. I swear I cant wait to get out of this godforsaken place - I feel less abnormal now since Jen and a few people she has come across all say the same (now okay maybe it is just our bad experience) - they have never met such a bunch of fake, insincere people in their whole lives.

I have my hospital tests etc tomorrow so I get to take a day's vacation off work for that Oh and I got a bloody lab bill in that my insurance is not covering for $700. Did I mention I hate this place? LOL.

I swear to God I will never down the UK again. Bloody great place.

Lesley - I don't understand - why are you going home?

You've said before that you came over here to work and the main motivation was not the relationship - are you being made redundant?

Moving to a different continent is always going to be stressful - i've got really homesick in the past and I know how awful it is, but you just have to work through it and come out the other side

Can you change your mind again before? Just MY OPINION but I don't think you have given yourself/the US a chance yet.

Oh what the hell.......they don't hand out medals for staying in the US anyway, do they? I certainly haven't got mine yet, that's for sure. There's always this "growth opportunity" stuff - or, she could just go back and be happy. Maybe that's what is best for her. I do agree that she should present any future suitors to us for approval though.

Well good luck Lesley if thats what you want. Actually I'd love the chance to "go home" not just for hols but unless I want to get divorced no chance, the US military told us we had to return here!!!
Oh well I can just dream of it one day and get used to it here. Trouble is every time I go home because I feel homesick when I return it is worse, haven't decided whether it is better not to go or not yet... Whoops I digress.
Best of luck anyway Lesley, hope the grass is greener for you and that your cats are sorted.

Good luck Lesley. At least you tried, so you won't be wondering for the rest of your life - what if.....

The US is not for everyone and you have been emotionally drained since coming here.

Go home, hug your mum, have a nice cup of tea, a good cry and then pick yourself up and look forward.

Enjoy your time left in the US.

Another good point is that you are now more qualified and can add your latest qualifications to your cv.

GOOD LUCK
