All of the world-cup is being recorded in High Def. All 64 games.

Does anyone know if anyone is carrying the world cup games in High Def?

Just watched Saturday, the FA Cup on my 110" High Def projector which was VERY painful. $25 ppv and the quality was worse than a shaky old ariel....

Anyone know anyone in this industry that can give us a straight answer!!!

I have hdtv, but comcast hasnt yet given us espn2 in hd, im keeping my fingers crossed for the world cup tho!

What about the odd games that are on ABC?

I think they will also be broadcast on ABC HD. We have ESPN HD and ABC HD but not yet espn2 hd, im hopin comcast decides to have for the world cup, since they are advertising the world cup in hd on all 3 channels here, but we shall see.

I sent an e-mail to comast a few weeks ago asking if espn2 would be available in HD in my area soon, got standard reponse :-(.

-the negotiation and contract process required to obtain the rights to carry a specific high definition broadcast, such as ESPN2-HD and HD-Net.

-the increased bandwidth resources which are required

-the relatively low number of subscribers (currently only a small minority of customers have high definition compatible television sets)

We will continue to explore additional HD programming opportunities as more content providers make plans to offer their programming in HD format.

We appreciate the fact that you took the time to let us know what is important to you. We hope to expand our high definition channel lineup as fast as we can. Not that i'm really too bothered about HD.. i'll be watching most games at work via the live footy link with japanese commentary

Comcast are so lame. The whole world is watching the World Cup fully in HD and they can't be bothered to switch it on for a month. What's the point of having an expensive plasma if you can't watch the games in HD??

at least after the group stages, nearly all the games are on abc or espn.

Pretty pissed off with comcast for the no ESPN2 in hd for the world cup, apparently its some kind of dispute where espn wants comcast to add another channel in hd with espn2 and comcast isnt going for it. load of shite!!

thats just pathetic. i seem to remeber they had something similar with fox, but they enabled it for a month or so to show the superbowl a couple of years ago.

Yeah they actually did it for the olympics, they enabled universal hd or whatever for just the olympics, disappeared after the olympics though, so i was hopin maybe they would do the same for the world cup and espn2, doesnt look like it though
