We also had a PW with an ordinary name but nicknamed Spanner. It was alleged, M'Lud, that she tightened nuts, though I had no personal knowledge.

Because I'm so puerile I'm still amused at Billy-Jean (or Joe) being shorted to BJ 
I also work with girls called Citrus, Ferrari, Mercedes , Barbie and Kip

At one of my old places, there was a guy in the Swiss offices named 'Frank Furter'; I guess only funny if you've seen The Rocky Horror Show.
One of the best odd American names I've heard is one of my mates' bosses: 'Fancy Younglove', it's a lass, and the surname is from her husband... Unlucky!
Oh, and how can I forget 'Argressor Sample III', an American who helped my last place out with QA:

If we expand the "wonderful names" theme to places in the US then my favourite is the delightfully-named NJ community of Cheesequake.
It's like an earthquake......but with cheese.
There's a Cheesequake State Park, Cheesequake Service Area on the Garden State Parkway, and so on.
I can't be the only one who finds this amusing.

My wife is from an old Southern family which lived on the Outer Banks and had little to do after dark except make babies, and after the 13th was called Hepzibah in a line of Old testament names, they ran out of Biblical inspiration and the 14th was named Increase!

I know it's mean, but it's an easy way of getting rid of them.

A guy my husband worked with was called Pete Pete Peterson. Apparently his actual name was Peter Pete Peterson, but he shortened the first to Pete! Only in America!!!

I work in a dental office & have had to call on insurance for families. I'm shocked at how many of the parents give their kids names that rhyme, for example, Randy, Mandy & Brandy or Anna, Hannah & Savannah!!! I also had ones that all started with the same letter & they were really close in their names too, a couple of letters different. How confusing?!?! Once again, only in America!

Our local paper periodically has pages of photos of school kids with their names beneath. My husband can always be found chortling over these (and he' s 'Murican!) It's not so much the actual names as the spelling of them.
Parents seem to vie to find the silliest version. Eg: Konrad, Deedree, Kody,
Kaine, Karol, (K's are a favourite!), Kornell, Graym. Can't remember more but there are more and worse!!
