Sorry didn't mean to offend rincewhind, I just get a little ticked when I see people that make fun of others PURELY due to where they live. Like it shows some people have ran out of ideas when arguing with this guy from Iowa when they start acting like because he lives in a certain place, in which I am willing to bet they've never been, he is automatically less intelligent or something very silly like that. You lost the arguement the moment you started. In England we have things called jokes, they are told by people who have senses of humour and are understood by people of average intelligence. I am typing slowing so you will understand. You see the state flower is not a satelited dish, that was made up so that people might laugh.

I remember reading a few years back that the white population had approximately 2% in the subnormal range i.e. below an IQ of 70. The corrsponding statistic for the black population was 20%. (Note: that this was a scientific study, so please don't curse me out, it is not my opinion, just a study I recall). I think that this, if true, might go some way to explaining why the four 103-104 states are at the polar extreme from the three 94-95 states.

You are obviously devoid of any sense so I have written your reply for you. It is very valient to defend someone or something you believe in. By choosing to defend Iowa from our torrent of jokes you have now negated any credability for any further arguements. No-one is going to take you seriously after you wasted so much time and effort defending Iowa from a couple of jokes, especially when all we have done is change West Virginia to Iowa. I suppose if we wrote the same jokes about West Virginia you would defend them too? I bet you still think Iraq had WOMD and that GWB is a good President.

Um, Northern Ireland anyone? In 2002 (maybe still going on - have left the country ) Catholic primary school kids had to be escorted past Protestant hate-mobs to get to school. Catholics were denied the vote in the 50s/60s if they didn't have proper housing (which they didn't since the Protestants doled out the houses), had to mobilize the army in the 60s to protect Catholics (bad move there - see Bloody Sunday). And of course last but not least in the 60s/70/80s we have the spectacle of Protestant policemen attacking peaceful Catholic protestors with clubs, dogs and rubber/plastic bullets.

But apart from that, you're spot on .

Sorry hon but i grew up in Wales and remember growing up hearing on the news as many horrible things against Irish Protestants as Catholics

"protesant girl thrown out of second storey window of night club...catholic family witness slaughter of father over evening meal"...i remember such news casts..maybe that's why while i was equally afraid when 9/11 happened I was also annoyed at the American's sheer disbelief that such a thing (terrorism)could occur on their turf while they (the U.S) themselves funded the terrorism of the I.R.A....am i wrong ? If so i'd love to be corrected
