I believe there are big tax breaks for companies opening up here in Austin, especially the tech sector. But the last sentence in their piece on Austin resonates most strongly with me.

Right. In the current economic climate the answer is "jobs", all the other answers are distant also-rans. The more useful question to ask is "Why are employers moving to Texas and existing employers expanding there?"

Probably because the majority of the worlds O&G field developments are project managed here and office space is cheap in comparison to other countries/areas.
