My fiance (UKC) will be entering on a K1 visa in Seattle where we will be married a couple weeks later. Do we need to file for Adjustment of Status at the Seattle INS center (first POE) or can we wait until we move to Detroit after the wedding so we can take advantage of same-day filing at the Detroit INS center? We have friends who started the process in Seattle, and when they moved to San Fran, they had to fly back for the interview (instead of INS sending the forms to San Fran)! We want to avoid the extra expense of returning to Seattle.
