Big halloween carnival and chili dinner. The kids really enjoyed it and the $ from the dinner funded a bunch of cool stuff... I think calling Halloween as it is today a religious day is kind of a stretch...

The problem is that it seems to be able to offend nearly anyone who thinks about it long enough. Wiccans, Christians, anyone who thinks that since it does derive from a Christian holiday (All Hallows Eve) it shouldn't be in the schools....
