Whats on yours?
your bed that is... Do you have a good old fashioned english duvet or an american style quilt and blanket?
I moved here 2 years back and using a quilt was driving me crazy in the winter on my last trip back to the UK I bought a 15 tog duvet and I love it The first week I just about cooked my hubby out of bed though.

Bundle of sheets and quilt and another blanket.
Much prefer the ole duvet, stuffed with feathers, and a decent feathered pillow

what is the difference between a comforter and a duvet? Is a comforter like a duvet in a sewn up cover? How do you wash this?

Re: Whats on yours?
Both me and my spouse brought our (British) quilts with us when we moved to the US. We also had the foresight to buy extra quilt covers. We're a quilt family.
Definitely don't want any goose feather/down filled bedding. I suspect I'm allergic to that kind of filling.
Even though it drops to below zero F at night I'm still using just a sheet and cotton blanket. I may need to use my quilt at some point. I'll see...

We have sheets and a blanket and I hate them, my feet are always getting stuck in them and i feel trapped. I miss my duvet and can't wait for it to be shipped over. We tried buying a duvet over here but all we can find are comforters and they just don't seem to be the same thing.

American quilt and sheet (this is FL). I'd love a summer weight duvet but I don't think they make them in UK to fit our size bed (Calif King).

OT Warning: my manager and her family are heading to ME for Christmas! If Dover-Foxcroft ends up on the local news, it wouldn't surprise me if her clan were up to something!

And a wish list would be great, but most of the family aren't big on the internet shopping which is a shame...oh well...
