Weddings?

Re: Weddings?
We got married in Scotland. My husband had 1 guest ,his mum.
My dad sent the best man packing the night before the wedding. My uncle did the honors instead.
Had a great reception, like a big going away party ,as we came back to the USA the week after.

Re: Weddings?
I disliked my weddings, just something I had to grin and bear. First one was in a courthouse with my in-laws who are redneck alcoholic low-lifes and about as much fun as a rectal exam.
Second was a church 'blessing' in the UK organised by my normally, intelligent, calm and collected mum who turned into a mother-of-the-bridezilla and organised the whole thing while I was in the USA.
The reception was full of my northern working-class family, most of whom got absolutely shit-faced and started arguing. Hardly anyone bought us any pressies, I started my monthly during the reception dinner while wearing my dress, realised I didn't have any others clothes to wear the next morning at the hotel so had to drive home alone (everyone else was drunk) in my wedding dress to get some clothes. Then had to endure my two cousins telling me I was abadoning the family by moving tho the USA.
Best bit was having my R.E teacher from High School 'bless' us. He was one of those teachers who makes your school life bearable when you're a teenager.
We did have nice food though, roast beef and yorkshire pud. My cake was pretty awesome too, picking that out at the bakers was good fun.

We have no idea how he got home ,he didn't have a ticket. He came over on a hop from Greece. Never heard from him since.

Debs did a fantastic job of arranging most of the big stuff before I arrived in the US in March but there was still plenty of minor details to arrange after I arrived.
We had about 65 people at the wedding and reception, about 15 of whom were a combination of friends and family from the UK. My dad was my best man and apart from the weather that scuppered our longterm plans for an outdoor wedding, the day went really well and everyone had a great time. Official wedding pics courtesy of my uncle can be found here.

Thats some journey.
Time does go fast ,once you are actually here.
Its waiting in England for that K1 to be approved that seems like forever.
We put ours in the Nov 2001 and i got approved in April 2002. Moved here in the May and married in the July.In church , all formal.
I cant believe it will be 4 yrs.
Alot has happened in that time.
Now i have a date for my N400 interview.(citizenship test)
We met by chance at a Family Reunion when i was here in June 2001.
My husband is the cousin of the friend i was staying with.
Pure fluke, as she had not seen him for awhile.
All worked out in the end.
Take care.
