Wal Mart goes Upscale
It just shows that they can sell quality food when forced to by the likes of Central Market in Plano.

My in-laws tried this "oh we shop at Target but NEVER at Walmart" This btw had nothing to do with low wages/pathetic staff conditions and health benefits I'm quite aware of those and so are they. It's just snobbery in my opinion. I married into a wealthy family (but as my mum would say "they still have their first communion money" lol Irish Catholic Thing) but they cut coupons/shop around for quotes on everything/uber concerned about getting a bargain...and yet come out with what as far as I can see is BS re Target and Wally world

Nothing wrong with using coupons if that's your thing.
I don't think it is as much snobbery as the fact that the stuff in Walmart is known to be utter crap that might be cheap, but falls apart after a month or three. The wage, etc..scandals have only sealed the deal in people's minds.

[QUOTE=Kate2112]Is Walmart the Uk version of Primark? People shop there but are too embarrassed to admit it?

I think coupon cutting is an American thing. I know some extremely wealthy people that are really, really pleased with themselves if they go shopping and are able to use coupons. Me, I just can't be bothered.

I would have no problem shopping a Mal-Mart if the people running it had a social and environmental conscience, but they don't so I don't anymore. I consider myself very lucky that I am financially able to make the choice to go and pay more at a locally owned business or small chain.

Nothing wrong in using coupons... I use them and usually when the item is on sale too.
