Hello,
I recently returned from the U.S after completing my studies for 5 years. I was on F 1 Visa. My parents are permanent resident of the U.S, and they have sponsered me for my Green Card. they filed my petition under the category of unmarried children of permanent residents. My petition was filed on March 31 2001 amd was approved . My pririotry date is March 1st 2001.
My question is that if I apply for a visitor visa now, would my application be rejected on grounds that my petition for permanent resident is on file??
Thank you

You can try by telling the truth, even if they issue a visa no guarantee you
will be admitted at the airport, therefore come prepared for the return trip
back until your petition becomes current.
