Verizon FIOS
I'm happy as pig in muck.
Getting FIOS....thats fiberoptic T.V (ditching the dish) thats Hi Def T.V....plus FIOS internet....plus FIOS home phone for $120 plus taxes per month.
And I get a $35 rebate cus I just hooked up DSL less than 2 months ago, so for upgrading I get 35 smackeroos back and internet thats like 14 gazillions times faster than broadband
Oh happy times are here again!
Thats a savings of nearly $70 a month......which in turn means my kids can have a extra 60 seconds of hot bath water per night now!

I have directv for about $45 a month, Lingo for $20 a month and DSL for about $20 a month, and I wouldn't be prepared to pay an extra $35 a month for the extra speed personally. By saying you're saving $70 a month does that mean before this you were paying $190 a month for the services you had

I've got the cable bit, but waiting on the tv. Our local city council is fighting them over taxes, so they haven't been able to get the go ahead for that yet. I'll be signing up as soon as they do!

Iv'e had Fios internet for a year now and it is Fabulous. I am into a 2 year agreement with directv at the moment so cannot take up their tv. it is something I will definately consider next year. Here is a good review from someone who has taken Fios tv.

We were lucky because our town (city) was chosen to trial the TV service and we were able to dump Charter Cable.
Quality of the TV (picture) is far better than Dish etc.
Good move...well done!

As for the "savings" issue, I will be staying in the US as I'll be trying to change the system from within. (The other one that's been bothering me a lot is "You did good" or variations - it's bloody "You did well" or "You did a good job" etc.!!!!!!)

How empty is your life if you get that excited over tv? Now the wife and kids can be ignored for Hi-def tv, they will feel so much better.
