HI All,
I am planning a short trip to Vegas ( we live in San Diego) mid July for my little sister's 21st. She's over visiting from the UK so it will just be me, my husband and sis going. I will be 71/2 months pregnant when we go so ideally I am looking for somewhere right in the middle of everything which also has it's own casino etc so that if hubby and sis want to stay up boozing I can just take my whale like self off to bed. Also we'd like one room/suite which has 2 double beds in it , I do think most hotels can accomodate this though.
Any reccomendations on hotels? I'd like somewhere reasonably nice but budget is a factor.
Thanks!

I like The Bellagio and it's central on The Strip. We've had several threads in the past containing hotel recommendations.

Across from the Belagio is Paris Paris, which is a bit cheaper but still quite nice, especially if you have a view out the front and can see the fountains across the way.

I was considering the Bellagio but we have friend who stayed there recently and they had an awful experience. They told us to avoid it like the plague!

I think nearly all the hotels on the strip have their own casinos/card table things and bars. Everything is close by once you are on the strip. I stayed at the Mirage, don't know how much it was, but it's quite an old one.

Paris or Balley's ( joined together ) is a great option, its as central as you can get and like another person said, if you can get a strip view then you can watch some of the outside shows going on.

Ballys is NOT a spectacular hotel, however, it's flanked by spectacular hotels and is half refurbished and half not.
So you can probably get a great deal there, and perhaps get a room with a partial view of the bellagio fountains.
It has Paris Next door, Bellegio opposite / caesers palace diagonally opposite / a short walk to the venetian, etc.

Close only if you consider that the hotels are right next to each other but not close if you realize how large they are. You may only be 6 hotels away from where you want to go but that can be a long walk.

Agreed. There is a monorail system linking them but you have to trek right through the casino to get to it. Much more convenient to stay middle of The Strip IMO.

tripadvisor.com also has some good personal reviews from customers.

And a trek through the Bellagio can be a long walk and if you are on the other side of the street and going to a hotel on the same side, that can be four long treks.

Been to Vegas a few times
Always stayed at the Venetian
Nice hotel and when booked through Expedia seems to be cheaper than most of the big hotels on the strip
Nice rooms , even basic model is a suite with three tvs!

Walking through the Forum Shops is a nightmare, there's only one way to get through and you have to walk all the way around. Bloody massive.
Side note: Do not go to Gordon Ramsey's restaurant, in Caesars (I think), it is absolute rubbish. Small portions, expensive, slow service and the food's not that great.
Oooh, and don't pick up the stuff in your mini bars (unless you want to pay $8 for a bottle of water) because they are weighted and if you pick stuff out it will automatically charge your room. Hubby got so mad when I did that, he made me call room service to confirm I had not been charged for it.
