hello all..... my wife (canadian) and i (usc) have submitted an I130. After we received the NOA we filed for the new k3 (I129f).. now we have found out that we are expecting(cool!!) so obviuosly we want to speed things up a bit. I have heard a few people refer to a provisional file. She will be working through Vancouver BC. Sooooo how do we set up a provisional file and will it speed things up?? how do we contact a real live human at the consolate?? any other advice would be greatly appreciated!!!!! Thank you soooooo much in advance...

You can e-mail or fax vancouver and ask them to set up a provisional file, I think..

The consulate in Vancouver can be reached at phone: 604-685-4311, e-mail
[email protected]

OR Fax it to (604) 685-7175 along with: 1. date and place of birth of canadian
fiance/spouse 2. any dependents of benificiary (also date and place of birth of
children) 3. any other names used by you 4. complete mailing address of canadian
beneficiary.

This is a "good" consulate, they tend to work wirh you.

Word of warning on phoning Vancouver. They do NOT accept phonecalls anymore. I
learned this the hard way after waiting for 25 minutes on hold and got my head bit
off by a nasty woman who freaked out on me and demanded to know where I got the phone
number from. When I told her off the internet, from a government webpage, she accused
me of lying and told me that she had no intention of answering my questions.

I would definately fax or email them. Prepare for an automated response at first!

My Vancouver experience was wonderful. My k-1 interview was on the 25th and I was
approved with no problems. Good luck to anyone who has the pleasure of dealing with
the consulate in person.
