Save on toothpaste for a couple of years and they might consider honouring you with citizenship.
You might want to practice how to queue and whinge.

There are jokes in VoD that you'd never be able to get away with on a network over here, especially when you consider how powerful religion in general, and the religious right in particular is. As a matter of fact, I do remember hearing a story of some religious organisation getting VoD removed from a PBS station, because they found it offensive.

I think it's completely sacraligious that they are remaking Vicar of Dibley or any of those shows...I wish they would just leave well enough alone, or either that import the British shows and show on main stream tele.

One of our PBS's shows Auf Weidersen Pet on Saturday nights. I think sometimes they show more Brit shows than BBCA (or at least has more variety)

why do they bother? most people here I have spoken to about TV prefer British TV to American anyway - they probably cringe just as much as we do about what the end result will be ...
what's next? men behaving badly? oh no ... they already butchered that ...

I agree.
Hopefully I will be pleasantly surprised, like I was with The Office. I much prefer the British version, but I do enjoy the American one too. I think the key is not to copy it exactly, but to use the same basic storyline.
