'Triple play' is cable TV as the third service? We don't have that either - SO many TV series on Netflix we haven't see in the last 'we had small kids' decade!

What's UPS, by the way?

Uninterruptible power supply...battery back up, basically.

Which, we've discovered the one Verizon provide, lasts about 8 hours :/

In our part of the US the electricity & cable TV (Internet) all run on the same poles, so an outage due to a falling tree or broken pole results in both going down regardless of the battery system. We are also on a well so when the power goes the water goes as well (not fun).

Our UPS also 'chirps' when the power is out, which is incredibly annoying.

All UPS's do that, it's to alert you that you have a power problem.

BTW, T-mobile limited data plans simply drop you down to "3-G" if you hit the limit. My understanding is that AT&T bills you.

BTW, the T-mobile business plan is now to separate the charge for the service and purchase of the phone.

My OH has an old POTS mobile, she uses a T-mobile SIM with 1000 minutes good for one year. It is far the cheapest rate for her purposes.

To clarify:

T-Mobile drop your service to EDGE (2G) after you hit your soft limit.
AT&T PrePaid cuts off your data, but allows you to buy an extra GB for $10 if you are on their $60 plan.
