Default University thing

Anyone catch the bit they did on the Today show?

It had this thing about how how best to get into colleges that you wanted...quite interesting....though they did miss out some things that might be handy.

They went on about scholarships at state colleges but didn't mention that a lot of schools will reduce how much you get from the school if you get outside scholarships so that you end up with the same amount in funds, but private colleges don't, so sometimes if you could end up with more financial help, especially if you get sponsored by an employer etc.

They also didn't mention that a lot of colleges don't charge an application fee if you apply online, nor that many colleges will waive the fee if you ask them about it in advance, which is something they usually don't mention.

No other point to this thread, but thought some might be interested, if anyone else had some tips for people
