Where do these people live, 5 miles outside Fukwitville? 2quid 20 for a pint, it costs $4 for a beer in a bar. Gas is cheap but insurance is out of control, and it all depends where you live for house prices. Try buy a 2 bed 2 bath in California for a half decent price.

A quick proof:
Gas: Approx $2.50 per US gal (4 Liters) = 65c per liter
Petrol: Approx 90p per liter
UK car does about 36 to the UK gallon or 8 miles per liter. Therefore it costs about 11.5 pence to do 1 mile in the UK
US car does about 18 to the US gallon or 4.5 miles per liter. Therefore it costs about 14.5c per mile in the US
