Not to the same extent as the UK test that I vaguely remember
but the Utah car road test was only about 3 or 4 miles. It did involve left turns, right turns, turning in the road, reverse parallel parking & reversing in a straight line, which appears to be more than some states require.
No emergency stops, nothing outside of the city itself (I say city, I suppose small town is closer in UK terms as Farmington only has 18,000 inhabitants), no specific hill start (although I did have to do one purely due to traffic on the chosen route), no reversing round a corner

I've rented a stack of bikes over here - They have all taken my UK license - nobody has every asked if I have a green card or not, nor how long I have been in the country. I'm just about to take my CT motorcycle license - I had to get my car test done first.
