At least you can take a joke though, eh. I don't have to justify my life or anything it. I may have had an easy life or I may have had a hard life. I have not judged you, I just made a point of how bitter you where and then how you tried to blame others for your own mistakes.

Everyone knows that the only place you can find redemption is the US. You are not only bitter you are hateful and hope bad things happen to others, you don't need redemption you need a ****ing exorcism.

First you escaped into the army and now to america, run away, run away!

Patrick

PS Not that it should matter a bit but I joined the army at 16 and left 12 years later, I could hack it.
When did i blame anyone for my mistakes? I made them i deal with them but why should i be happy about it?

No i dont wish bad things on people, just you! and i dont really mean that either i am just being bad tempered today. Exorcism? i am not catholic.

This has all been very theraputic and fun but i dont really want to start a row with you i read some of your other postings and you dont seem to bad just a little pessimistic and pedestrian in outlook.

well done on your 12 years a real unit or just blanket stackers? i wonder!

I think I just come across as pessimistic, really I am an upbeat person who enjoys life, I just disguise it really well.

OK boys, that's quite enough! Otherwise you'll be hugging each other and swapping scar stories next! I'm not sure I can stand the excitement!!!

I too have been in the same position. I owed money to 3 different institutions in UK whilst here in the USA. At the time, I couldn't afford to pay anything back to them. I talked to a CAB advisor in UK twice on two different occasions (both times they were ex-bankers) and each just laughed and said there's really nothing they can do and that they would most likely write it off after a while anyway. Of course, if u owed several million, it would be a different matter ;-)

What I did was first ensure that they could only deal with me by sending a letter stating that they were my debts and nobody else's and asked them if they would accept XX pounds per month as a payment arragement. They accepted and I've been paying that ever since. That was 4 years ago.

The INS does not run any kind of credit checks but the post about any Government money owing might be a different matter.
I have similar problem i owe lots of money to various credit cards in the UK around £70,000 i have a USA immigrant visa trhough my usc wife and will be leaving the Uk in oct. i have notifed all creditors and offered to sell up my house + car to settle the debts for a percentage. I offered 75% and they are all being total dicks about it demanding the total etc and threatening to pursue the debt in the USA.

How hard is it for them to actually do that? what kind of size debts will they pursue across the atlantic in your experience? should i just pay off the biggest and **** the smaller ones? did you deal with the banks or with debt collection agencies?

personally they are such dicks about it all i am tempted to say bollocks and skip off but you can be imprisoned for wilful non payment so its a bit dodgy. besides i really wanted to wipe the slate clean.

any advice apreciated as this whole issue keeps me up at night,

regards,

Duncan
