How canpeople in the UK be the most boring when everybody else says we have the best sense of humour? I went to Switzerland and to Germany and they are as boring as s**t there!

i think possibly as britontour said above...each to their own or words to that effect...lol but we know we are the best and that's all that matters

Since moving her she really struggled to make friends, she has loads now but it's taken almost a year for that to happen but last week an English girl started at her school. Today she said that in two days, she already feels like she's known her for years, something that took much longer with her American friends but rather than say its because Americans are boring, different etc etc she said its because she has been the one to put up those barriers and in effect stopped herself from becoming friends with these people much quicker. She sais she was always too wary of them because they were American and she was English and she felt like the odd one out even though they didn't make her feel this way. Could this be true of the rest of us?

i have a bunch of american friends who aren't boring. I know of quite a lot of boring bstards back in the UK, and vice versa... the main thing i dicovered was (suprise suprise) if you keep slagging off the country you live in people won't find you very amusing after a while
woodsey, i remember reading a post of yours a while ago about people back home not staying in touch etc... i don't know if you agree but i feel like a foreigner here, but now that i've been away a while, i'm not really accepted at 'one of them' in the UK any more either.
I'm still very happy that i ventured out of wigan though!
