TSA - Time to Stop Aviating?

I've seen a few reports of that happening, but didn't think to keep the URLs, so I can't source them.
There might be something on the ACLU site: http://www.aclu.org/passengers-stories-recent-travel/

Interesting, some flyers report going through the scanner and then still being pulled aside for fingering.

By designating it as a 'foreign object' she presumably felt it was justified...unfortunately the kind of behaviour being described has been seen often in studies where one group is given power over another.

Of course. And I know the internet "rule" about bringing up Nazism but the parallels are blatant and, in this particular case, it is completely appropriate to mention them.

The Germans have a good phrase for those who happily go along with this kind of thing: Begeisterte Mifahrer.

There are some liberal democrats who seem to be defending the new and invasive TSA regulations, as well as quite a few conservative Tea Party followers who are equally condemning of the same rules.
It would seem that the views on this contentious subject are highly divisive and quite unpredictable from a party political point of view.

A very true and apt observation indeed.

Much like aspects of this thread.

Standing in line to get through security, all those people packed into a small area, always struck me as being a really good target.
If you look at the totality of the terrorist threat, and just give a quick thought about how you would allocate resources to combat it, how it is being done makes very little sense.
