Transiting through LHR with BA...
All
I'm flying PHX - LHR in early November. The flight is going in to T3 at LHR, instead of the usual T5.
I now have an addition/change to my travel plans and need to got from LHR to Munich as soon as I get in from PHX. I want to fly BA on that additional leg.
Remind me(!) - do I need to pick up my luggage at T3 and then recheck it in T5, or will/can it be checked all the way through to Munich because these are now 2 different tickets?
Cheers,
Harry

It depends if the check in desk at PHX can issue a boarding card for the second flight. If they can the bags can go all the way and you can do an airside transfer at LHR. When you book the second flight call BA and ask them if they can link the two PNRs.

Thanks lansbury and Tonrob - That's what I've done - the travel agent understood and she took care of it easily.

Just remember, you'll have to go through security at Heathrow. The liquid law will apply to anything you buy airside in the States.

Most times I've flown through Heathrow I've checked my bags to the final destination. Usually either Aberdeen or Amsterdam.
However on more than one occasion my bags haven't actually made it. Usually when the transit times are less than 2 hours.

Back in 2007, we flew LAX-LHR-TXL all on BA [using frequent flier].
The baggage was checked through to Berlin. We did have to clear security in LHR.
