Transfer my UK pension to my 401(k)?
Does anyone know how I can go about transferring an old personal pension from the UK
to my current US 401(k) program. My UK pension people say they can do it, but my
401(k) people say they can't (or at least, don't know how to do it). Thanks.

I don't think you can do it because that would be a HUGE tax mess. For that
matter, it often is difficult even to transfer a 401(k) from one employer to
another within the US.
I'm not familiar with UK pension plans at all, but the general idea should be that
you keep it separately in whatever UK account you may have, and when the time comes
you draw your funds from that.

I don't think transferring 401K from one US employer is a big deal. I have done
it.You merely close the 401K account with the previous employer and take a check for
the amount and deposit it into the new employers 401K

Not all employers allow it. Also, such a rollover can be tricky - the biggest
challenge is that the first employer will withhold taxes and penalty from the check,
but you'll need to contribute the full amount
- more than the amount of the check - to the new 401(k). If you want to avoid that,
you'd have to arrange for a direct transfer from the old to the new 401(k) and
never take a check yourself.
