I am looking to move to USA how do I arrange getting money from
my brutish bank account transferred to the USA

Can I cash a british cheque in a US bank?

I want to transfer money electronically to the USA
I haven't got a bank account yet there?

Is barclays linked to Bank of America ?
Can I transfer money from Barclays to a Bank of America account?

I know I can withdraw money with my British debit card?

any advice?

some banks will cash a limey cheque, charge you a fortune though.

All moot if the OP isn't a USC or eligible for a visa though.

BoA/Barclays are linked, you won't get charged for using your Barclays debit card in BoA ATM's etc....but having a Barclays account won't help you open a BoA account.

And it will take approx 8 weeks ... I did actually do this once. I don't remember the fees ... so that would lead me to believe they weren't too bad!!
