Top Gear Show about Florida scarry!!!!!!!!
 
Saw the Top Gear show on Sunday-I am really worried now about Florida-Is it really that bad? It looks violent-did anyone see the show-its on again today on BBC2 at 7 PM I think:unsure:

Why are you so worried about Florida...I thought you were going to Brizzie?:confused:

I suppose like most states Florida has it's good and bad areas.

Yes we are going to Brisbane (September) but I have always wanted to go back to the USA as I have lived there in California -mum took us away from there saying it was "too violent"-Is there anyone on the site who actually lives in Florida? Was Top Gear correct in its viewpoint? I thought it was a nice place-it certainly looks like Queensland. I am going to look at the show again tonight on BBC2!:blink:

In some parts of Florida seeing an 8 foot tall mouse would not be considered strange. That scares me.

They keep the natives away from Orlando. What the tourists don't know is that Orlando is a huge compound that is surrounded by troops to keep the natives away from harming the tourists.

Outside of Orlando, it is like Terminator 3.

If you're planning a move then I hope your research would consist of more than watching a T.V. show! I personally would not move to Florida but that is more because I prefer cooler weather, not because of an inordinate amount of crime as it depends on the area you move into. Parts of Florida are as backwoods as you can get outside of Appalachia and parts are very cosmopolitan. Lots of people live there and I'm sure many of them enjoy it.

Where would u recommend? Property as an investment as well seems good at tampia, Englewood, and Fort Lauderdale-what is that like?:eek:

With the bottom falling out of the property market in Florida
Certainly a good time to buy...

An an investment ..not so sure

To be fair, they did go to a really crappy part of Miami that I wouldn't go to without a gun.

The producers obviously found what they were looking for.

I cannot recommend anything, I've only been to FL once for a three day training class. It was in Tampa and it seemed like a fair enough city but you can't really tell in three days.

I've only seen clips of it on the internet but I thought Top Gear was the British show that did reviews of sports cars and such? What are they doing in Miami anyway? Am I thinking of the same program? I wish the vid sites weren't blocked here, I'd look for a clip.

It's the same show, but now and again they do things like this - a Top Gear Special; this time they bought a car each for $1000 in Miami and drove up through Florida on their way to New Orleans (passing through Alabama).

Some of it was funny, but they've blatantly gone to the areas where they knew they'd get people who fit the American stereotypes.
