I think the scary thing is the amount of Brits who decide they luuuurve the USA because they've been on holiday, but then decide they are ideal for USA because they went to school. speak English, work in Tesco's, run their own business (usually hairdressing) and therefore USA will welcome them with open arms!

What do you mean USA is not interested in what I want!

Its Jan, bring on the lemmings

Good luck on that. I sponsored my sister and brother-in-law for immigration to the US back in 1990. It took over eleven years before they finally received their green cards.
They wanted to live in Florida as California was too expensive. The INS sent their green cards to my address to forward to them. I sent them registered mail but the bloody post office managed to lose them

If you have no immediate family relatives already here or no job skills that are in demand then you could still get a visa if you have a few hundred thousand pounds to invest in a business

Agreed 100%. I have to put my hand up and say there are times when I would have loved a holiday home in Central Florida. We even looked at buying one that is for sale but decided against it. We have had some really good family hols in Florida and I have been fortunate to have visited a number of different states in a works capacity but - for me - the UK will always be home.

There's a whole British community living in the Rotunda not far from Englewood. The supermarket even sells the Daily Mail

Who don't you do the obvious and get information from the US Consulate in Belfast as far as qualifying for a permanent residence visa?
