Things to see and do in your state
In New Mexico...
a) ...pick up hantavirus. 65x more likely to get it here than the rest of the US. b) ...get plague. Yep, Santa Fe is one of the few places in the world that permanently harbours plague. c) ...get an infestation of flesh-eating bacteria. More cases than almost anywhere in the world. Scary thing is that it is as simple as getting strep bacteria in an open wound. Something special about the low humidity and altitude. If that's all a little advanced for you, we offer stuff for beginners too. You might wish to start with a standard desert mix of rattlesnakes, tarantulas, scorpions, giant centipedes and black widows. What does your state have to offer? |

Problem species in Florida.
Main Genus: Touristimo Generalis Sub Species : Touristimo Snowbirdalis (white plumage, normally seen in winter) and Touristimo Britishalis (Red plumage more common in the summer months) Description: The pesky little buggers can be seen all year round thought they tend to be more prolific in the summer months (general theory is they are blown in on the tropical storm winds) when they can be seen in a multitude of colours from Snow White to Lobster Red. Often spotted in camouflage with an "I love Orlando" T-shirt on and clutching a small furry stuffed mouse like thing that they will use to beat off potential attackers with. Effects: They are not considered dangerous per se but are a nusiance and as a non-indigenous species they are causing massive damage to local fauna and flora in their great numbers and so the State Gvt has created an open season whereby if they appear to be causing harm its permissable to cull the offending creature. Bag limit is 5 per day. Unlimited for the season. Predators: Their natural predators are called "Ticket Sharks" that like to hunt in small groups and are found loitering by small cabin like structures where they will pounce on passing Tourists and proceed to fleece them alive. Examples: Touristimo Britishalis http://www.soccernet.com/images/ph.1...ottBarbour.jpg Commonly found around Orlando, Kissimee, and Tampa Touristimo Snowbirdalis http://www.screamingeagle.org/images...o-hard-at-.jpg Commonly found in more southern areas such as Palm Beach, Boca Raton and Miami. |

Re: Things to see and do in your state
You don't need a road make to get around, people will give you directions by Churches. "When you get to the Baptist Church turn left, keep going until you see the Catholic Church turn left again, past the Greek Orthodox until you get to the Presbetarian Church, half a mile on you will see the Southern Baptist church, turn right, and it's there on the left. If you get to the Seventh Day Adventist Church you have gone too far".
Not sure if its happening elsewhere, but Dollar General stores are sprouting up like mushrooms. Emtpy lot today, Dollar General tomorrow and if it's not Dollar General its a Subway. |

Although to be fair I am told that Mackinaw Island is a must see and very pretty in fall... I have just not made it that far north yet. Ash :) |
