30+ years ago when we were in Florida on holiday...hubby developed Delhi Belly. I went into a pharmacy and asked for Kaolin and Morphine (I used to buy it in the U.K.)..the pharmacist almost collapsed

TBH unless you use or eat vast quantities of certain things I wouldn't bother bringing stuff over...you will have more important things to worry about. You can buy a vast array of British goodies in NYC...and you can buy almost anything online now.

I've done it many times and only discovered this year that it is prescription only in the UK, and that was only just recently when my doctor asked what I had been taking for my back that I had just injured when I fell. When I said naxproxen he asked where I had obtained it and I told him truthfully that my doctor in the USA had prescribed it but said that as it was much cheaper for me to buy 2x220mg OTC than 1 x 500mg prescription that I should try that first. My Doctor in England told me that if it was working then to continue with it. He had examined my back and confirmed that he thought it was soft tissue damage only.

I would spend some time researching food standards in the US if you at all concerned about not eating bleached chicken etc.

Never noticed it listed as something not allowed. I always carry a ziplock bag of OTC meds when I travel including Tylenol, ibuprofen, naproxen, travel sickness, Imodium, Miralax, antacids, plus the one prescribed beta blocker drug I do take. I know that ignorance is not an excuse.

This is the list I just looked up on the government website. Naproxen is not listed although it does say the, very extensive, list is not exhaustive.

However you may find you prefer the American version of several products.

In the same way epinephrine and adrenalin are. American and British respectively.
