Thanksgiving Day, what grub are you cooking!!
If you are celebrating, what you cooking, turkey,or if you are like us a small turkey and a hunk of beef, with fresh veg,and or course yorkies.
Loads of cookies baked the night before, and my buddys best ever squash casserole, plus a fresh apple pie.
I don't like turkey myself no matter how its cooked it seems tough.

Rather go out drinking beer and have a ruby murray .......the wife's family will do the whole 9 yards ..including green bean vomit ..I mean casserole. ham with brown sugar and yams in syrup......I'd rather have a good roast beef and Yorkshire pud ....

I'm completely traditional at Thanksgiving.
Turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes of some form (not candied though), orange-cranberry relish. Pumpkin pie.
Some sort of vegetables, to be decided - definitely not green bean vomit though. I cannot understand why anyone actually likes that dish.
I love having leftover turkey though, to heat up or for sandwiches. So big enough bird here.
Now at Christmas, I'd rather cook beef or pork or lamb or ham or something - but I do the turkey for DHs traditions.

Children are rolling in from London & Cape Cod. MIL will be attending. Four omnivores & two vegetarians.
This is what we're preparing (this is just a beginning.)
Very large roast turkey
Roast potatoes
Very large dish of candied sweet poatoes, baked with marshmalloes on top
Cranberry-orange relish (wild cranberries fresh picked in Provincelands, Cape Cod)
Lokshen Kugel
Various salads
NO nasty stuffing, gravy etc.

Noodle pudding - made with egg noodles, apples, sugar, cinnamon - and MANY dairy products; butter, sour cream, cottage cheese, cream cheese etc.
I should add another item on the menu, Mr. Kiplings Exceedingly Merry Festive Bakewells, brought in from London by our son

DAH doesn't like traditional Thanksgiving foods, so I'm making cornish game hens (with Stove Top stuffing just for me!). Along with that, rice for hubby if he doesn't like the stuffing, and roasted veggies (onions, tomatoes, bell peppers, zuccini, potatoes). I might buy an apple pie for dessert...haven't decided yet.
