You are so right it does not really sound so bad doesn't it because one day my dad will not be here to enjoy Thanksgiving with me. I guess your dad is back in the UK and you can not be there with him. Thats so sad . Have a good Thanksgiving.

Well that sucks. You must be so sad about your husband not being at your side during those holidays. I am so sorry to hear that your husband has to work all those days. I hope that those days go well for you.
Have a great holiday season.

Hubby is supposedly going to have the day off, I'll probably make a small dinner and then we might take the little one to the cinema to see the Muppets, that way he can't be on his laptop or phone working

Just wandering if people do a religious Thanksgiving or not. My lot have a generic giving of thanks, so if you have a god it can be to that god, if not its to society or your hard work or good luck or whatever you view appropriate; but there is always a moment before eating when people out loud state what they are thankful for from the previous year.

We're off to the Oregon coast on Wednesday.... I won't be a happy camper if the electricity goes out!

Just unpacked Mom's china that had been boxed up for over 15 years. The china was first purchased over 45 years ago. I was so pleased to find it in great condition. I almost didn't mind handwashing everything this past weekend for Thanksgiving Dinner.

I would definitely wash these by hand. I think that you have some really nice china. I can not believe that your china is over 45 years old. They look like new. I hope that you have a great Thanksgiving.

Thank you, I hope you have a great holiday season too! I'm used to it to be honest, he's a fire fighter so during the peak season he can be gone for a few days up to a few weeks!

Your Welcome. Think you for wishing me a great holiday season. I really appreciate it.
I have a lot of respect for your husbands job and for what he does for people. but it sucks that he is gone a lot and misses a lot of holidays with his family but that is part of the job. At lest you are use to it. That is good to know.

There's never a native American around to feed you, when you're feeling peckish is there?

Do you literally know so little about, well, everything?

Thanksgiving was first observed as a national holiday when President George Washington issued a proclamation for thanksgiving after the establishment of the first congress in 1789. In 1863, President Abraham Lincoln reinstated a national Thanksgiving Day which was observed on the last Thursday of November.

Ok, we'll rewrite history and call them aborigines instead of Native American Indians then

They are every bit as aboriginal as the aborigines of Australia, Canada, Newfoundland, New Zealand, Tasmania, and other former colonies, problem?

What does that have to do with a 4-star hotel?
