Default Thanksgiving 2011 Megathread

So Thanksgiving is next week and I don't know about you, but I can't wait. So what is everyone here doing for Thanksgiving this year? Also, be sure to share any Thanksgiving related pictures you take in this thread.

Go to the Bakery in Niagara-On-The-Lake for Meat Pies and Sausage Rolls. They will heat them up for you in the Microwave

Hope you enjoy yourself. I don't suppose it can be all that romantic though if you're bringing your kids along :P

Perhaps it's time to end Hoover's folly. Genocide is not a reason for celebration.

Heading up to Maine for a few days, to see the folks and then dinner at the grandmothers and be back over the weekend.

Probably just lounge around like slugs. The missus hasn't had a day off work in 2 months solid and I'd be glad to let someone else take care of the kids for a while

I'm cooking and actually looking forward to this one for a change. My brother has finally left his bipolar sadist wife so she won't be sabotaging things and my couch pissing alcoholic sister won't be here until Christmas. I'll miss my youngest sister, who I love the most (yes, I do have favorites and, no, my love is not unconditional), she won't be here but she's taking a long break at Christmas so Yay for that. So it's Thanksgiving with the (semi) normals and I get to be a control freak in the kitchen because none of them cook except my engineer brother-in-law but he's pretty passive and won't make waves.

Best part of Thanksgiving is the 3 days after when everybody has ****ed off home.

Off to the in-laws who have invited everyone. It all sounded good till I realized we'd have to pay for a hotel. My brother-in-law is an assistant soccer coach at his local college, and he has invited some of the overseas players who would otherwise be orphans on Thanksgiving, but that I now realize will mean I will not be The-only-Brit-in-the-village, all my specialness will be taken away.

Paying for a hotel is cheaper than feeding people. Trust me, you came out ahead on the deal.

We now have an American in the house so we'd better start taking this a bit more seriously.

Off to Wholefoods later to buy a Tofurkey.

A vegetarian Thanksgiving would be a breeze even without the tofu silliness. The best parts are all the stuffings and dressings and veggies and gravies and breads and pies and and and . . . I need to go lie down for a while.
