They're the second best that I've tasted here, the first being a restaurant in Sedona, AZ. I'm not willing to drive that far (2 hours) for them, so I have to make do with Red Robin!!!

Another place that pisses me off is Starbucks cafes. We have one near us and a friend and I (another Brit) agreed to meet there for lunch. Despite the parking lot being almost empty there was no where to sit. They had around ten tables in there and seated at each one was one guy with his laptop and all the other gadgetry that goes with it. As we approached a couple of tables with a view to sharing we got daggers looked at us so in the end left. What is the point of going out to lunch to "get away from the office" and then sit there with your lap top. I do understand that people on the road need somewhere to catch up with office work but do it in your hotel. My husband travels a lot with his job but he never takes his pager or his laptop into any eating place and will usually switch off his cell phone or leave it in the car.

I've eaten in most American chain restaurants, but never TGIF. As was already mentioned, it's all straight out of the freezer, same with Chilis and Applebees. I'd rather go to Dennys or Village Inn, where at least they don't bullshit you about their "awsome steaks".

Never done TGIF - Hubs refuses to queue up for a table - but we went to Outback last night and the steaks truly were awesome!

As for Starbucks, we must have people with better manners here, (or maybe it's just that there aren't too many powerpoints) as it's a rarity to find anyone with a laptop taking up a table.

Love my local Starbucks and will miss it when we go.

It's harder to find a city that doesn't have a Starbucks than one that does. 24th street and Camelback in Phoenix has one on either side if the street.

Plymouth, UK doesn't have one - I'm well disappointed as I'd have to travel for a couple of hours for my beloved mocha!

Speaking of interesting places to take a piss. If you're ever in Vegas, head to the Main Street Station casino downtown and you can take a piss on an actual slab from the Berlin wall.

Cellphones and laptops in restaurants I agree, that is not the place, starbucks? yes it is. it is not a quaint neighbourhood coffee shop, and I would certainly not call it a 'eating place'

some people I know who work from home go there, to get some kind of human interaction, I think starbucks is a pointless place if they didn't offer wifi and an environment where you can get on with light work stuff.
