The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: who plans to go see it?
They finally re-made one of the great horror classics of all time, and one of the scariest films ever made. I know I'll be among the first to see it this friday when it hit's theatres around the US.

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre was one scary mother of a film. It was literally the foundation for modern horror films such as Friday the 13th, Halloween and Nightmare on Elm Street.

In the trailers it states that's its based on a true story....well maybe, but VERY loosely. According to the websites there was a chap in Wyoming that had a farm and would carve people up and wear their skin etc etc, were the Texas part comes into it, that I have no idea?
looking forward too watching a good horror movie though.

The "chap" you refer to was Ed Gien. Yes, he liked to wear not only masks, but full body suits made from the flesh of his victoms (usally females). The "Buffalo Bill" character from "Silence of The Lambs" was also base on Ed Gien.

In case anyone's interested, they made a movie about Ed Gien, Steve Railsback plays the title role of the legendary serial killer. You can rent it at any Blockbuster.

......girl reaches between her legs, suddenly large amounts of blood cover her legs as she pulls a gun out of her vagina. The sight of this sends shockwaves of horror through the five youths watching, as well as the audience. The girl then proceeds to put the gun in her mouth and pull the trigger. The back of her head flies off explosively, blasting a bloody hole in back window of the van.
That just one of the horrifying scenes in this remake of this 1973 classic. I just saw it, it was insanely terrifying, full of the kind of images that made films like the original TCM such legends.
