Texas car Insurance
Looking to get some quotes on car insurance for our move.
Can anyone recommend any companies that may take my impeccable UK driving experience into consideration and not charge me $300 a month to drive a Mustang
Thanks

Car insurance is very expensive. Lots of threads on it if the search function is working again. We joined AIG and saved more than the membership fee on our first months premium.

Here you go. I think they changed their name to AIG Travelguard. Our experience was 4 years ago so this should show more current info.

Just been through this. State Farm was the cheapest for the first 6 months then moved to Geico.

We did AIG inbound for the first year, and now we're with Amica, who are also significantly cheaper on home owners insurance too. They are a Co-op, so we get a pretty hefty rebate cheque on top of cheaper headline rates. Have a colleague who actually had to claim and it was OK.
AIG inbound offers a couple of advantages (car insurance was comparable to prices for locals) and you can also get credit through them. If you can get your company to pay the annual fee as part of your relocation then it's really a win.

Taking note of UK record is a sales pitch...it means they take you as a spotty 18 year old rather than a spotty 15 year with a permit.
It's the lack of credit history that has a big impact and a large part of why the first years rate will be horrid.
Still, if you drive a banger or aren't to worried, you can get state minimum coverage and that will be cheap. I would not however recommend that.

I use Texas Farm Bureau. Never found anyone that gets near them on price.

when we came in 2007 - we did the aig thing too - well worth the fee. we ended up getting renters and then homeowners insurance through them too.
right now - we use allstate for car and home as we get discounts for multi products.

Re: Texas car Insurance
When I lived in PA in 2008-2009 I used Amica and they took my UK driving record into account (they actually asked about my no claims which I was able to provide). At the time my wife had just started a policy with them and they added me on with my UK license and dropped the insurance down to $1k p/a (was in the region of $1.1k), then once I took the PA driving test, they dropped it down to $900 and sent me a refund check as we had paid the year insurance in full.
