Well obviously my comment was somewhat tongue-in-cheek, but I'd say somewhere not subject to prolonged periods of extremes of temperature, precipitation, humidity and storms. Applying that definition to the US probably leaves you with parts of CA, parts of OR, parts of WA (maybe) and parts of the lower-elevation Rockies

Most of the world's landmass is a wasteland. That's one of the reasons whyso much of the world's population is clustered in a relatively small percentage of the total land mass.

Earthquakes and volcanoes would rule out the entire West Coast, including Oregon.

Hey ! Kentucky is a beautiful State, Houses Cheap ,people polite and helpful
crime next to Nil (I leave my doors unlocked at night) and the Kidd's call their Dads Sir and their Mother Mame, when you last hear that in the UK ?
Weather is just right for a Limie ,we get all four seasons but Winter is short and Summer is not too hot if you have air-con LOL ,Spring and Autumn are to die for beautiful .
Seriously, try looking at the Kentucky Lakes area if you like tranquility and nature and if you like City life try Louisville, it has a cool architecture and a nice Southern Slow pace .
I got lucky first shot, Paducah ,Kentucky ,Artists Relocation Programme !
try Kentucky my friend ,you wont regret it.
