Hmmmm. Turn a Marmite jar upside down and it is sort of shaped like a motorcycle helmet....
Yeah, I suspect only the manx people that actually made money off the TT (begrudgingly) accepted it

Can't stand Marmite!!!

Ours too!!! Bang goes my new kitchen table!!! Stupid tax man told me to change something on my W4 so that they will take out an extra $40 per paycheck, but as i get paid weekly, and only get about 180 a week i dont fancy losing such a big chunk!!! Personally I think they cocked it up as we got more back last year doing only 8 months work than we get back doing a full year, I doubt any of them really know what they are doing!

It does seem all rather a big pain in the arse, with nothing worth waiting for at the end of it

That's how it should be. If you get a refund it's because you've paid too much in taxes...so the IRS has had the benefit of your money and not you.

ever since I moved to the US I just gave my tax paperwork each year to a wonderful and cheap local tax attorney who knows just about every trick of the trade (and it's nice to have a lawyer in case the IRS gets pissy).

Now I'm self employed I value him even more. It's a small price to pay to not have to spend a day dealing with all those deduction forms -- usually well under $300.

I know that, I just liked it the way we've done it in past years.

Not if you saw the piles of receipts, W2s, invoices and other stuff I just hand off to him, not to mention the peace of mind I get from knowing that he understands the tax code inside out (unlike most HR Block-type drones). Actually last year's bill was $230.

That's all well and good if you would save the extra money for the interest, but I know me I would just find something to spend it on...I like that they 'save' it for us and then hand it back, tomorrow is payday for us

and, seeing as we have to wait ten days for our stolen funds to go back in the bank, it's coming in very handy
