No, the OP has lost out. The US SS and Class 2 NICs will be of no value. However, the OP is going to have to pay FICA or Class 1 NICs whatever happens and as Class 2 NICs are so inexpensive it seems worth it to pay them
if the OP wants/plans to stay longer than 5 years.
