Tappan Zee Bridge !
Here's something to worry anyone who crosses it regularly 
Last week I was heading north over the bridge about 4.00am, sitting behind a long line of very slow moving trucks and listening to an argument on the CB radio. One driver was complaining about the hold up and another who was driving a heavy haulage truck carrying a 100 ton replacement section out in front was arguing back and telling everyone that they have to cross the bridge at 5 mph to avoid the load bouncing, there were two of these sections travelling nose to tail with about 200 40 tom trucks crawling along behind, this amounted to a few thousand tons travelling at 5 mph and sitting on the centrai span which has a truck limit of 40 tons. They aleadry say the bridge is extremely weak so what the f**k is this stress doing to it ?
I don't particularly want to go down with it
In future I will check they are not moving those loads across before getting anywhere near the thing
