Right, I am 17, doing a fashion course at college, which I'm due to finish in July 2010. Afterwards I would like to go to Uni/College at FIDM, probably in California.
Now, I procrastionator all my life, I thought that since I'm really serious about this I shoud start looking into it early.
But I don't really know where to start. Any advice would be greatly appircated. Thank you!!!
The process is very simple, as Leyther has already outlined and very quick as SallyCinamon has described. Just a couple of things from my experience (am over here on an F1 at the moment) an associates degree doesn't count for practically anything in the UK. It is costly to study, text books are painfully expensive, in addition required course materials can run into hundreds per course. You can't work, unless it is on campus and they usually pay just over minimum wage, you also need to ensure you have adequate health insurance. Most colleges will give you two figures and your anticipated costs will be between them. Factor on them being the higher figure. This of course doesn't include emergency flights home or schedules holidays, new shoes or a new ipod, they are just living. All of that aside, I'm having a fantastic time and am glad I decided to study abroad.

The money will be the main issue you wont be allowed to work on the F1 Student visa although u may be allowed to take internship maybe even a paid internship as you u study the school will advise you but the money is the main issue you need to have sufficent to cover tution and living expenses. I think u need proof the money came from legal source though dont qutoe me on it.
