Default Student Paramedic looking for job

hi Expats
I am currently doing a 4 year degree with only 12 months left.
I am looking to move to florida
does any one have any idea how i go about seeking companies/services for advice/jobs?
My partner and I have family in orlando, so we can get a green card through that route. But as to finding potential employers is quite difficult to find or have advice on how to contact them and what other qualifications i need to work

regards to u all

If you are looking to get a work visa in the Paramedic field, I believe you will find it quite difficult. You might have a degree, but there are many USCs available for a job like that who are already trained, already living in the USA, who won't cost the employer mega-bucks to hire. You would have to have some VERY special niche skills to make a US employer want to pay the money to hire you over a USC.

Who are the family members you and your partner have in Orlando? Are you and your partner married?

Other than the visa issue, which may or may not completely kill the idea, each city and state will have different requirements. Around here, you need to be a firefighter since the ambulance service is run by the fire department. You need to pick a place first, Florida isn't specific enough. Regardless of where, there will likely be significant training requirements and education that you will not have and will need to get. Again, location specific.

Really? And they're US citizens? Parents? Children? Siblings? Those are the only family members that qualify to sponsor! If they're your parents, and you're over age 21, it'll take about 7 or so years for you to get a visa. If they're your children, it'll take about a year to get a visa. If they're your siblings, it'll take about 13 years to get a visa. If they are anything other than US citizen parents, children or siblings, it's not going to happen.

I smell a rat - too many vague unknowns in the question BUT he is doing a "4 year degree", which I have never heard a UK resident say, and I don't believe exists ..... unless you are doing some highly specialized degree, such as veterinary science, a bachelor's degree takes three years, .... AND British degrees mostly run September - June, so while it might be possible to finish a British degree in December it is another improbability in the story.

Actually an hono(u)rs degree at a Scottish university is almost invariably a 4 year course.

My engineering degree, done in the UK, 1985-1989 was a four year honours degree, and about a third of them were back then.

Nowadays some universities have 3-4 intakes a year for remote/overseas students, using a modular approach, resulting in a 3 year course equivalent being completed over 4 years, max 6 years. It's more about scheduling & stretching out the modules.

Unless you are also going to be a firefighter, you will find it hard to get a job, or a job that pays as a paramedic. Your HCPC registration will not carry over and you may do much of your training again.

All this of course assumes that you do indeed have a route for a green card, as you will not be able to get one off the back of being a paramedic. Many paramedics in the US are volunteers, just like SJA, but with a few more toys.

There are far more opportunities, scope of practice, autonomy, and money in Australia for HCPC paras.

round here - the local firefighters do dual roles as firefighters/paramedics and are housed in the fire station - and sent on whatever type of emergency as needed.

It's quite common for languages.

Do many languages graduates find careers as paramedics?

A simple Google on the user name will find our OP. Seems genuine to me: an ex-military, gay Conservative studying to be a paramedic.

Good luck to him! However, his choice of profession will not provide a path to live and work in the USA.
