Re: A stranger videoing my daughter at the pool
My point is exactly what as below / AmerLisa thanks
I have a 7 year old daughter and I know that I will do as much as I can to protect her, including dealing with someone who is photographing her without my permission.
I will have to deal with it - if grabbing the camera can be called voilence...well what can I say...
The point here being - I will not tolerate this if it happened to me and I will do *everything* in my power to ensure I deal with it..of course not voilent in anyway......

If you do that another country as non-citizen you might face deportation after such a conviction.

Ray and JAJ,
The point being - I will do everythign in my *power* to protect
my children. May be grabing the camera is unlikely.....I am just
making the point that I will definitely not sit just because he
has a legal right to do a certain thing....
30 Min video for me is scary...that's all..

In fact, only the courts can make such a determination. All law enforcement can do is assess whether it is likely that such a breach has occurred and the extent of any supporting evidence.

Very interesting - thanks for that. Answers a few questions I have had (unrelated to the OPs issue).
I wonder a couple things... does taking video have the same rights as photos?
And unrelated... do people that rent a property have the same rights to forbid photography as property owners?

Bear in mind that a property owner's rights concerning unauthorised photography are usually limited to insisting that the offending photographer leave the premises. It is still not permissible to forcibly take a camera or its contents.
Nor can you prevent photos of private property being taken from a public area, although there can be specific prohibitions on:
- taking photos of people inside a building (where they have a reasonable expectation of privacy);
- taking photos in a way that constitutes loitering and/or harassment.

My FIL was told not to photograph at my daughters swimming gala in the UK.. and at my son's football tournement unless he got permission. Too Right.
Yup.. i'd of grabbed the camera too.. especially if he'd of spoken to me like that..

I think everyone is getting too involved in what is legal or not.
Taking 30 min video of a 7 year old surely is unacceptable and
should not be tolerated....especially as one has no way of finding
out what can be done with this video....
F that...
