The savings on your heating bill is pretty huge. If you are in a rather cold area, or somewhere where heating costs an arm and a leg, then it is worth considering something like this.

Most houses here in the UK have double glazed windows but this is a country where there are no extremes in climate like there is in America....sometimes in the UK a day in January can be warmer than a day in June. Would ordinary double glazed windows not suit the American climate extremes then? I like the way they have shutters or metal gratings over the windows on the Continent.

It's only older properties that do not have double glazing here...just like the UK. Storm windows are used on the older properties which don't have double glazing. Although it can be well below zero F here in the north east during the winter months...we can also have days in the 70/60's. It's a strange sight to see 15 ft mounds of snow and people walking around in tee shirts...some even wear shorts.

That sounds fantastic! I'd love to experience all that......climbing over 15ft snowdrifts in my fun teeshirt and shorts. No chance of frostbite if it's 70 degrees.

Well when your use to 0F and suddenly it's 62F out, that's a massive rise in temp, and really does feel like summer...
