Depends I guess. When the speed limit on the interstate is 50mph...everyone speeds.

5 over is usually my default max when I know the road.

50? Come down here. The speed limit is 70 and the minimum allowed is 40. Go figure.

Yep, I imagine they think they are winning the race to the next red light. TBH I don't go on freeways that much.

I always keep to the limit through small cities. Speeding tickets is a major source of revenue for some municipalities. I can only speed when I don't have traffic in front of me. Most people drive at least 5 mph under the limit, too often it's 10 to 15 mph under the limit.

Spot the bloke that's never driven in Tampa.
I didn't realise the cops issued speeding tickets round here, they strike me as being far too busy helping people get in and out of church and Dettweiler's parking lots, responding to car wrecks or eating donuts.

I did a ride along in the city and for the 10 hour shift it was call to call with no traffic enforcement.

Presumably that was with the PD or Sheriff's dept rather than State troopers?
Which would mean factoring in murders, hold ups, domestics, Walmart shoplifters, etc!

Yep, PD. In fact change murders for a drug OD and Walmart for a different store and you've hit the home run.

The only state trooper I saw drove out on the Skyway Pier while I was fishing. I thought it was legal to drink out there and had an insulated sleeve with 6 beer, (one of them on the go).. was actually surprised they didn't sell it in the bait shop. I'd hidden my beer when I saw the car out of force of habit anyway and he just gave a little wave and drove on. After I was back home there was a gang shoot-out in the Walmart parking lot and the greeter's car got a bullet hole, but I don't know which police attended. My sister wouldn't go to Walmart for months.

It's not all 50, but big chunks of 495 heading into Lowell and around, and then I-95 and the pike into Boston are 50.
