Somethings are very different

Somethings are very different
Today we had a Mardi Gras party...at work...at 3pm
The margaritas were slush puppies by any other name, no alcohol but curiously there was salt (just in case you couldn't handle the huge sugar rush I assume)
The Mardi Gras cake didnt turn up, Fed ex emailed to say it will be delivered tomorrow. Nice one Fed ex.
So a room of 20 adults stood around drinking slush puppies. As the only person there who would have LOVED a drop of alcohol as well as cigarette ,I realise yet again that I have done a lot in the name of love
Whats your experience of US style office "do's"

Next question
(Though going out after work for a few beers with my colleagues is occasionally a good laugh)

we had a 'tropical' party in the car park at the front of my work place (right next to a busy road). There was a tiny children's paddling pool with a blow up palm tree, and paper palm trees on the tables set up outside. We were all entitled to one beach ball each. Oh and there were jamaican tunes underneath the hum of the traffic.
the food was very good, but in the beautiful summer sun having to lounge about on blistering hot tarmac, the least we deserved was a beer! no chance!
At least it gave us an opportunity for a whinge
makes a change from the british ones i went to... i actually did once get drunk and end up kissing my boss- how clichéd! i'm not sure it's such a bad idea to do without the alcohol!
