That article doesn't make sense. The first half talks about USCIS rubber stamping everything in sight, then the second half talks about lower approval rates and attorneys complaining cases that should be rubber stamped aren't.

And does an EAD count as a visa application in the context of this article?

Received official EAD card today - 25 January 2012

You know, when I did my EAD, it ended up taking almost a year (received in October 2006, but the card issue date was in May 2006 :blink:) and I got my greencard a month after the EAD arrived anyway.

I think someone arsed something up, possibly me, somewhere along the way because I had to apply for the EAD two times in 2005 when I moved here, and then had to wait all that time ...
